Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 – 6:00

Q: What membership options do you offer, and is there a pay-as-you-go option?
A: Yes — there are flexible membership options, including pay-as-you-go, no contract fees, and monthly plans. Please ask at reception for more details or give us a call on 0151 260 8009

Q: What facilities and equipment do you have?
A: Gym 21 is well equipped! We have:
A large range of free weights, machines, pulleys etc.
Cardio equipment (treadmills, bikes etc.).
Functional training areas.
A ladies-only gym area / ladies’ gym.
A “Legs room” for leg-focused training.

Q: What is the atmosphere like? Is it beginner-friendly?
A: The gym has an old-school, serious training vibe, especially for bodybuilding and strength training, but it’s also welcoming for all fitness levels.
Members say the staff are friendly and helpful, especially to newcomers.

Q: Do you provide guidance for workouts / training plans?
A: Yes. Trainers at Gym 21 are experienced, and the gym describes itself, especially through the “Gym 21 University” concept, as offering educational support in training technique, nutrition, and goal-setting.

Q: What about diet and nutrition support / advice?
A: Gym 21 shares resources on diet and nutrition, including insights from Bill Jones (Mr Universe) about what he did in his competition days. So you will find advice on macro-balance, meal timing, protein sources, and how to adjust diet depending on whether you’re bulking or cutting.

Q: What rules or gym etiquette should I know about?
A: Some key etiquette pointers:
No dropping weights from height (for safety and respect)
Clean up after using equipment; put weights back. (Implied from general “old school gym” culture here.)
Be considerate in shared spaces (e.g. cardio, free weights, functional areas).

Q: Are there classes, extra activities or coach-led sessions?
A: No – At the moment, there are no fitness classes being held at Gym 21 Liverpool, but if that changes, we’ll let you know.
Also, we’ll let you know if we plan any future seminars and workshops at Gym 21.

Q: Are all equipment and facilities always available / in good condition?
A: Mostly yes — the gym is well respected for its range and quality of equipment. In the past, some reviews mentioned that a few machines could benefit from maintenance. However, we now have a full-time engineer on site and virtually all machines are always in working order.
If something is broken, members are encouraged to inform the staff.

Q: What are the costs (day pass / membership fees)?
A: For day-pass, monthly pay-as-you-go membership and special offers, please contact the front desk at Gym 21 Liverpool. Remember – there are no lengthy contracts at Gym 21.

Q: Is there a ladies-only area?
A: Yes — there is a ladies’ gym area. It’s intended to give female members confidence, and reduce intimidation for some. Anyone can use it (i.e. it’s not exclusive), and it serves also as overflow for additional equipment.

Q: How do I get started, especially if I’m new?
A: Great question. Here’s the process:
Come down during opening hours, tour the gym, ask for an induction if needed (staff can show you how to use equipment safely).
Decide whether you want monthly (no contract)  membership or daily pay-as-you-go.
If you have goals (weight loss, building, strength etc.), ask a trainer to help you plan initial sessions.
Don’t worry about not knowing everything — many members started similarly and found the community very helpful.
